For many of us, life is objectively safe.
Yet very few of us feel safe.
We can have all the money we need, a loving relationship, a home to call our own - and still not feel safe in ourselves. This shows us what safety is not: it is not a well-organised, companioned, risk-managed life built to hold us in stability.
Safety is the felt sense of being whole, regardless of what we’re experiencing.
If we are willing to believe this - even for just a moment - it means anxiety is safe, uncertainty is safe, grief is safe, illness is safe… even death is safe.
